Jasmine’s Top 5 Kitchen Design Tips

Jasmine’s Top 5 Kitchen Design Tips

I've had the pleasure of transforming countless kitchens into stunning spaces that truly elevate this part of the home, including a handful of my own past and current kitchens! I strive to create kitchens that are both beautiful and functional, as they serve an important purpose and as a gathering place for loved ones. I have so many special memories connecting with my family and friends over a home cooked meal. From maximizing storage to incorporating unique elements, these are my top 5 kitchen design tips for a functional and well-designed kitchen.

Hidden Trash and Recycling

With a little creativity and thinking outside the box, you can seamlessly incorporate trash and recycling solutions into your space without compromising design. In almost every kitchen I’ve worked on (including my own), I hide the trash and recycling in a cabinet or large pull out drawer. Instead of taking up unnecessary space, the trash is neatly tucked away and out of the way!

Panel Ready Dishwasher

Panel ready appliances are a kitchen design trend that allows your appliances to blend seamlessly with the rest of your drawers and cabinets. Guests might come over and even find it a guessing game! Panel ready appliances are a way to give your kitchen a clean, crisp, cohesive look while elevating the overall design aesthetic. These have been a game changer in a handful of my recent projects.

Large Pantry

One of my top kitchen design tips is to incorporate a large pantry if possible. If you’ve ever been inspired by my hidden pantry project, or you’re looking to expand your pantry to offer more storage, I urge you to go for it! With ample space to store pantry staples, dry goods, and even small appliances, a large pantry provides a convenient and accessible storage solution! Incorporate baskets and containers to stay extra organized.

Drawer Dividers and Organizers

If you’re not undergoing a kitchen renovation but looking to spruce things up, this tip is for you. Make your space less cluttered and more organized with drawer dividers and storage solutions. It’s a small tip but it has made such a difference in my kitchen! The Shop by Jasmine Roth Scout Storage Bag Organizer and Arbor Storage Wrap Organizer eliminate cardboard boxes and scattered bags from drawers. These make packing lunches and storing leftovers a breeze!

Coffee Bar

And last but not least, this is for all of my coffee and tea lovers. Having a coffee bar really does elevate the at-home morning coffee experience. Use a dedicated space of the kitchen to store your coffee pot, kettle, and other necessary supplies. Whether it’s hidden in a cabinet, in the pantry, or tucked into an open nook, a coffee bar is a must!
