Candles are one of my go-to decor items for enhancing any room. Whether to infuse your space with a delightful scent or add a warm, cozy glow, a candle is a simple but impactful design touch. Plus, who doesn’t love lighting a fresh, new candle at home?! There are so many kinds of candles to choose from, it can sometimes be hard to decide which ones exactly belong in your own home. Here are a few of my favorite types of candles to help you find the perfect one for every space in your home.
1. Scented Candles
When you need a bit of ambiance or coziness, no matter the season, a scented candle is your best option. Consider styling one on a shelf, in a bathroom, on your coffee table, or on a desk—you really can’t go wrong. Light it to set the mood and make your home smell delightful. Our Cardamom Tea & Ginger Candle can help create a relaxing atmosphere in any corner of your home, and the simple glass container is great with all kinds of design styles. I love a scented candle that’s not too overpowering, but it’s enough to recognize it’s there.
2. Taper Candles
Set a welcoming tablescape for any gathering with tall taper candles. They offer plenty of warmth without any scent competing with your delicious meal. Add a subtle layer of texture and color with neutral-toned candles like our Evander Taper Candle and Orson Taper Candle. I love mixing it up and styling a few different colored candles and candle holders together.
3. Candle Holders
Candle holders add a pop of personality and sophistication to your home. I love using an assortment of complementary candlestick holders and pairing them with our neutral taper candles. Play with contrasting heights by combining the Regent Candle Holder, the Jillian Candle Holder, and the Pierce Candle Holder. The variety of design styles pair well together and can elevate any shelf or tabletop.
We're always getting new candles and candle holders in the shop, so be sure to keep an eye out for new styles and scents that will brighten your home.
